Hillary Clinton's Naked photo hits the internet.

Recall that some days ago, a group known as Indecline released naked statues of Donald Trump to protest his comments, but now, an anti-Hillary group has retaliated. The Hillary’s naked portraits were titled ‘The Ugly Sides Of Hillary Clinton” in a smear campaign that many find appalling. See the images below:

Trader Arrested For Naming His Dog ‘Buhari’

A 30-year-old trader has been arrested by the police in Ogun state for naming his pet dog ‘Buhari.’ The trader, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, of No 10, Omikunle Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, was reportedly arrested last weekend, after one of his neighbours of Northern extraction complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

Vanguard learned that the complainant reported the case at Sango Police Station, last Saturday, after which the trader was arrested and detained. However, it was gathered that efforts by the police to recover the dog, which they intended using as evidence failed following a clever move by the suspect. The trader, said to be trading in female wears at a popular market in Sango, allegedly directed his friends secretly to kill the dog and possibly eat the meat in order to avoid being implicated. It was gathered that consistent appeals by his friends and relations for the police to grant him bail failed as the complainant and his kinsmen reportedly threatened to kill the trader if he was released on bail.

Trader denied bail The case, however, took a different dimension two days later when Chinakwe’s relatives went to Sango police station to further plead for his bail only to be informed that the case file and the suspect have been transferred to Ogun State Police Command headquarters at Eleweran. A relation to the suspect, who simply identified himself as Chiedozie, told Vanguard that his brother was being persecuted for no just cause and expressed fears that he may either be poisoned inside police cell or thrown into jail. Chiedozie said: “Chinakwe is a lover of dogs and he names them after things that tickle him. He bought this dog a year ago and named it Buhari. Unfortunately, some Northerners, who dominate the vicinity where he resides misconstrued his intention and connived to take him up. The complainant then claimed it was derogatory because his father answers Buhari.

” Police sources, however, told Vanguard that the actions of the suspect “were very provocative.” The source said: “he not only named the dog Buhari but boldly wrote it on the body of both sides of the dog and was seen parading the neighbourhood dominated by Northerners with it.” As at press time, relations to the suspect were still making frantic efforts to effect his bail while his accusers are insisting that he must be prosecuted. Police confirms arrest When contacted around 8pm yesterday, the acting Police spokesman in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, ASP, said he was still trying to get the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Sango for details. Oyeyemi later called, stating that: “I have made enquiries.

The man bought a dog and inscribed Buhari on both sides of its body. One Mallam lodged a complaint and when our men got there, we found out that it was true. You know such thing can cause serious breach of the peace and ethnic or religious unrest.

We are charging him to court for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.” Continuing, he said: “He was arrested last Saturday and we are taking him to court later today (Tuesday) or tomorrow morning (today). You know an average Northerner will feel bad over such a thing. It can cause serious ethnic crisis or religious confrontation because when you are relegating such a name to a certain person, you are indirectly insulting him.”

When asked about the whereabouts of the dog that will be used as evidence against the suspect, the police spokesman said: “The dog cannot follow anybody except the owner. We will use him as our evidence because he did not deny it.”

Atheism to Christ

This is my story. It is quite long but quite interesting. I hope to do in 2 parts. Please read

I was baptised, as a child, in an anglican church, had a couple of years as a pentecostal then as soon as I became a teenager, attending church became optional. I only went if I really had to, but there was no compulsion. Attendance waned to almost zero as time passed. But I didn't discard my belief in God, and if I had to pray I would in Jesus’ name. Besides, how could there not be a god? when you’re never too far away to hear spooky stories from boarding school students, villagers, and people with haunting experiences; and if you, by any chance, didn’t, there was always a Nigerian movie to bring it all to your living room.

Going further, with the amount of information accessible on the internet, I started having questions about christianity, especially about the type common in Nigeria, although I wasn’t really keen on seeking for answers. But, one thing was that I became increasingly irritated by preachers living in opulence, using bullet proof cars, body guards, and jets, like pop stars while they had many poor and struggling people in their congregation, especially when I found that most of these preachers owned virtually nothing when they had started.

Didn’t the european missionaries who brought christianity, free education, healthcare and the bible - the same one we use till this day - leave the comfort of their countries, homes and families risking persecution and death for what they believed? I thought. Certainly, this couldn’t be the same Jesus, these preachers and their followers become so excited talking about. The Jesus I knew as a child from my A&M hymn book was a friend to the poor, meek and lowly; and I doubted if He were physically present, He would be the one in Armani suits using the most sophisticated gadgets. He certainly wouldn't live and act like these preachers did.

For this reason, I preferred devout muslims - not that I ever considered becoming one but because they were principled, kind and generally nicer in my experience - to the christian counterparts.

As a young lad predisposed to politics, psychology, science, and real hip hop -‘real recognise real.' I became savvy with Google search for almost every question that crossed my mind - and being a thoughtful person, I usually had a lot about everything. So, in 2014, while following the Israeli-Hamas conflict on the news - you didn’t have to watch the news for long to know about it because there were only two issues at the time and the other was the missing MH-370 - seeing the killing of people, including children by air strikes - although the Israeli claimed that they always fired warning strikes to allow for evacuation before actual decimation of targets-. However, I vividly remember an interview of a doctor, after a bombing of a UN reserved hospital by the Israeli forces, absolutely furious at the damage and injuries inflicted by the strike and how he said “...this is a hospital for God’s sake.”

I felt so much empathy for the doctor and the injured, thus, a barrage of questions started coming into my mind. I wondered if this Israel is the same one talked about in the Bible, If God supports this country, regardless, because they are His people, and from a song, or bible knowledge as a child, we were told Saul killed thousands and David killed tens of thousands: I wondered if these people killed were real people, I wondered which tribe they would be if they still exist in present day; and having those images in my mind, I wondered how God could support the murder of thousands by David because he loved God and is described as ‘a man after God’s heart.’

So, I got curious, I started my search with ‘How many people did King David kill?’ coupled with other search leads, I came across a book “God’s killings in the Bible” by Steve Wells - it counts the number of people God killed directly, and indirectly as recorded in the Bible - and bought it. Rio olympics: Fifa cancels Mikel's yellow card

Three Nigerian players have been given the all clear by FIFA ahead of Nigeria’s semi final game against Germany, after it was confirmed that the cautioned they picked up against Denmark has been wiped out.

The trio of Muenfuh Sincere, Usman Muhammed and team captain Mikel Obi had their caution wiped out, hence will approach the tie against Germany without any fear of a possible booking that will see them miss the final if they beat the Germans.

FIFA amended it’s tournaments rules few years ago, canceling single yellow cards picked up during quarter final games to stem the tide of key players missing final games due to accumulated bookings.

Going by the rules, only the deputy captain of the Nigerian team Azubuike Okechukwu is suspended for Wednesday semi final clash against Germany, as the booking he picked up against Denmark was his second of the tournament.

Nigerian King ate 40 Briton during his reign....

An Ijaw man, Koko was a convert to Christianity who later returned to the local traditional religion. Before becoming king, he had served as a Christian school teacher, and in 1889 this helped him in his rise to power.

The leading chiefs of Nembe, including Spiff, Samuel Sambo, and Cameroon, were all Christians, and after having ordered the destruction of Juju houses a large part of their reason for choosing Koko as king in succession to King Ockiya was that he was a fellow Christian.

With the settlement of European traders on the coast, Nembe had engaged in trade with them, but it was poorer than its neighbours Bonny and Calabar.

By the 1890s, there was intense resentment of Royal Niger Company's treatment of the people of the Niger delta and of its aggressive actions to exclude its competitors and to monopolize trade, denying the men of Nembe the access to markets which they had long enjoyed.

As king, Koko aimed to resist these pressures and tried to strengthen his hand by forming alliances with the states of Bonny and Okpoma.

In January 1895, he threw caution to the winds and led more than a thousand men in a dawn raid on the Royal Niger Company's headquarters at Akassa. Arriving on 29 January with between forty and fifty canoes, equipped with heavy guns, Koko captured the base with the loss of some forty lives, including twenty-four Company employees, destroyed warehouses and machinery, and took about sixty white men hostage, as well as carrying away a large quantity of booty, including money, trade goods, ammunition and a quick-firing gun.

Koko then sought to negotiate with the Company for the release of the hostages, his price being a return to free trading conditions, and on 2 February he wrote to Sir Claude MacDonald, the British consul-general, that he had no quarrel with the Queen but only with the Niger Company.

Despite this, the British refused Koko's demands, and more than forty of the men were then ceremoniously eaten.

Foods That Boost the Immune System

Immune system boosters
If you're looking for ways to prevent winter colds and the flu, your first step should be a visit to your local grocery store.

Feeding your body certain foods may help to keep your immune system running strong. Plan your meals to include the following 15 powerful immune system boosters. You may increase everyone’s chances of fending off those winter bugs before they get sick.

Eating just one of these foods constantly won’t be enough to help fight off the flu. Keep in mind that variety is key to proper nutrition. Pay attention to serving sizes and recommended daily intakes so that you don’t get too much of a single vitamin and too little of others.

1. Citrus fruits
Most people turn to vitamin C after they've caught a cold. But did you know it tops the chart of foods that keep your immune system running at 100 percent? Vitamin C is thought to increase the production of white blood cells. These are key to fighting infections.

Popular citrus fruits include:

grapefruit
oranges
tangerines
lemons
limes
clementines
Because your body doesn't produce or store it, daily intake of vitamin C is essential for continued health. Almost all citrus fruits are high in vitamin C. With such a variety to choose from, it's easy to add a squeeze of C to any meal.

2. Red bell peppers
Think citrus fruits have the most vitamin C of any fruit or vegetable? Think again. Ounce for ounce, red bell peppers have twice as much vitamin C, as well as being a rich source of beta carotene. Vitamin C may help maintain healthy skin, and beta carotene helps keep your eyes and skin healthy.

3. Broccoli
Broccoli is supercharged with an arsenal of vitamins and minerals. Packed with vitamins A, C, and E, as well as numerous antioxidants, broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables you can put on your table. The key to keeping its power intact is to cook it as little as possible — or better yet, not at all!

4. Garlic
Garlic is found in almost every cuisine around the world. It adds a little zing to food and it's a must-have for your health. Early civilizations recognized its value for fighting infections. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, garlic may also help in lowering blood pressure and slowing down hardening of the arteries. Garlic’s immune-boosting properties seem to come from a heavy concentration of sulfur-containing compounds, such as allicin.

5. Ginger
Ginger is another ingredient many turn to after they've caught a cold. However, like vitamin C, ginger may also help prevent that cold from taking hold in the first place. While it's used in many sweet desserts, ginger packs some heat in the form of gingerol, a relative of capsaicin. Capsaicin gives chili peppers their distinctive heat. Ginger may help decrease chronic pain and may possess cholesterol-lowering properties, according to recent animal studies.

6. Spinach
Spinach made our list not just because it's rich in vitamin C. It's also packed with numerous antioxidants and beta carotene, which may increase the infection-fighting capability of our immune systems. Similar to broccoli, spinach is best cooked as little as possible so that its nutrients are retained. Light cooking enhances its vitamin A and reduces oxalic acid.

7. Yogurt
When selecting yogurt, look for ones that have "live and active cultures" printed on the label. According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, these cultures may stimulate your immune system to help fight diseases. Yogurt can also be a great source of vitamin D, so try to select brands fortified with vitamin D.

Vitamin D helps to regulate the immune system and is thought to potentially boost our body’s natural defenses against diseases.

8. Almonds
When it comes to preventing and fighting off colds, vitamin E tends to take a backseat to the more commonly mentioned vitamin C. However, vitamin E is key to a healthy immune system. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, meaning it requires the presence

Turkey Asks EU To Okay Visa Freedom In October Or Abandon Migrant Deal

The European Union should grant Turks visa-free travel in October or the migrant deal that involves Turkey stemming the flow of illegal migrants to the bloc should be put aside, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told a German newspaper.

Asked whether hundreds of thousands of refugees in Turkey would head to Europe if the EU did not grant Turks visa freedom from October, he told Bild newspaper’s Monday edition: “I don’t want to talk about the worst case scenario – talks with the EU are continuing but it’s clear that we either apply all treaties at the same time or we put them all aside.”

Visa-free access to the EU – the main reward for Ankara’s collaboration in choking off an influx of migrants into Europe – has been subject to delays due to a dispute over Turkish anti-terrorism legislation and Ankara’s crackdown after a failed coup.

Before conceding visa liberalisation, Brussels wants Turkey to soften the anti-terrorism law. European Commissioner, Guenther Oettinger, has said he does not see the EU granting Turks visa-free travel this year due to Ankara’s crackdown after the failed military coup.

Cavusoglu said treaties laid out that all Turks would get visa freedom in October, adding: “It can’t be that we implement everything that is good for the EU but that Turkey gets nothing in return.”

A spokesman for the European Commission was not immediately available to comment on Cavusoglu’s comments.

Last week Selim Yenel, Turkey’s ambassador to the EU, said efforts were continuing to find a compromise with the EU on visa liberalisation and he thought it would be possible to handle this in 2016. He rejected the idea that visa-free travel may be pushed back further beyond October, after missing an initial June deadline.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said he would approve the restoration of the death penalty if parliament voted for it, a move which would sink any hopes of European Union membership.

Donald Trump Calls For ‘Extreme Vetting’ Of Immigrants To U.S

U.S Republican Presidential nominee, Donald Trump, says that he will enforce an “extreme vetting” of immigrants if he is voted to the White House.

In a speech in Ohio, Mr Trump outlined his plans to combat Islamic extremism, including a new screening test for arrivals to the United States.

He says applicants will be tested to determine if they share western liberal values and religious tolerance.

Trump also said that in implementing his call for a temporary ban on Muslims immigrating to the country, he would institute “extreme vetting” as well as a new screening test to try to catch people who intend to do harm to the United States.

He has also called for the shutting down of access to the internet and social media for those aligned with Islamic State, which holds territory in Syria and Iraq.

While also blaming his democratic rival, Hilary Clinton and President Barack Obama for aiding the rise of the Islamic state, he says, “we will defeat radical Islamic terrorism just as we have defeated every threat we’ve faced at every age and before”.

However, his democratic rival Hilary Clinton poured scorn on his plan, labelling it a “cynical ploy”.

FG Sacks 23 Prison Officers Over Jailbreaks

Twenty-three officers of the Nigeria Prisons Service have been relieved of their jobs for their alleged role in the jailbreaks that occurred recently at Kuje Medium Security Prison in the Federal Capital Territory and Koton-Karfe Prison in Kogi State.

This decision was approved at an emergency meeting of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board in Abuja on August 11.

A statement from the Nigeria Prisons Service indicates that 17 junior staff of the Kuje and Konton-Karfe prisons have also been sacked in connection with the jailbreaks.

In addition, the officer in charge of the Nsukka Prison in Enugu State, Mr Lawrence Okonkwo and 10 other staff of the facility have been suspended, to allow for an investigation of the escape of 15 inmates from the prison last week, though six of them were said to have been re-arrested.

The sack comes on the heels of the three jailbreaks that occurred between June and August in Kuje, Koton-Karfe and Nsukka prison facilities, all in Nigeria.

Two inmates escaped from the Kuje prison while 13 others fled the Koton-Karfe prison.

The Nsukka jailbreak was the recent where 15 prisoners escaped, just as six escapees were rearrested.

Rescued Chibok Girl In Abuja Says She Wants To Go Home

One of the over 200 abducted Chibok schoolgirls rescued from Boko Haram after two years in captivity in northeast Nigeria said she just wants to go home.

Amina Ali and her four-month-old baby were rescued in May near Damboa in Borno State by soldiers and a civilian vigilante group, more than two years after being kidnapped by the Islamist militants from a school in Chibok in northeast Nigeria.

After her rescue sparked a blaze of global media attention, the 21-year-old and her child have since been hidden away in a house in the capital Abuja for what the Nigerian government has called a “restoration process”.
She granted an interview to Reuters.

In her first interview since her rescue she said: “I just want to go home – I don’t know about school.

“I will decide about school when I get back, but I have no idea when I will be going home,” Ali said, speaking softly while staring at the ground.

Boko Haram kidnapped 219 girls from their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State in April 2014, as part of an insurgency which began in 2009 to set up an Islamic state in the north that has killed some 15,000 people and displaced more than two million.

Some girls escaped in the melee but parents of those still missing accused former President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria’s then leader, of not doing enough to find their daughters, whose disappearance sparked a global campaign #bringbackourgirls.

Ali spoke to Reuters days after the Islamist group published a video showing dozen of the girls.

In the video published by the militants on social media on Sunday, a masked man stands behind a group of the girls, and says some of their classmates have been killed in air strikes.

While Ali had not heard about the video, she said Boko Haram had told the abducted girls that everyone was looking for them.

“I think about them a lot – I would tell them to be hopeful and prayerful,” Ali said. “In the same way God rescued me, he will also rescue them.”

Eating Raw Maize

Ali, who was found by the army in May along with a suspected Boko Haram militant, Mohammed Hayatu, claiming to be her husband, said she was unhappy to have been separated from the father of her four-month-old baby girl.

“I want him to know that I am still thinking about him,” Ali said, relaxing and lifting her gaze off the ground only to breastfeed her child when she was brought into the room to feed.

“Just because we got separated, that does not mean that I don’t think about him,” Ali added.

Ali’s mother, Binta Ali spent two months with her daughter before going home to Chibok. She said last month she feared for Ali’s future.

She said her daughter had wanted to further her education before being kidnapped, but now she was afraid of school and wanted a sewing machine to start a business making clothes.

Ali told her mother earlier this month that the girls, who are being held in Sambisa forest, were starved and resorted to eating raw maize, and that some had died in captivity, suffered broken legs or gone deaf after being too close to explosions.

Plateau Attack: Two Policemen Killed In Gun Battle

Two mobile policemen were killed on Tuesday morning during a robbery incident at Hawan Kibo, along Jos- Abuja highway in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Plateau Police Command, Assistant superintendent Tyopev Mathias, some hoodlums attacked the mobile vehicle stationed along the highway, dispossessed a mobile police sergeant of his riot gunner and subsequently killed him.

In the process of the attack, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) bullion van coming from Jos en route Lafia in Nassarawa State, ran into the incident and another mobile sergeant in the convoy escort also died in the gun battle.

According to the report from the police outpost, “Some hoodlums attacked a mobile unit along the Jos-Abuja highway in which a mobile police sergeant was killed while the special escort of the CBN bullion van going to Lafia ran into the attack which led to the death of the other mobile police sergeant.

“The bullion van was not carrying any cash as at the time of the incident while the corpses of the policemen have been deposited at the Plateau specialist hospital.” The police spokesman told Channels Television on phone.

Why Men Give Women Diamond Engagement Rings

A guy giving his girlfriend a diamond engagement ring would seem to us to be a intrinsic part of America and Americana. It is a time-honored American tradition, like watching television, going to McDonald's for lunch, kids riding bikes, or beer and hot dogs at the ballgame. And it is, but it's not quite as old as you might imagine.

While engagement rings have been around for centuries, diamonds are a fairly late addition to the party. For many years, there just weren't that many diamonds on the world market, so diamond engagement rings were pretty rare.

The rock Archduke Maximilian of Austria gave Mary of Burgundy in 1477 was a rare exception, creating a huge buzz around the globe. Despite that high-profile ring, things stayed pretty quiet on the diamond front until the late 19th century.

As recently as the late 19th century, some American women received thimbles as signs of their engagement. After the wedding, they would cut the bottom off the thimble and bride would wear it as a ring. In England, one contemporary practice involved the man and the woman breaking a piece of gold or silver and each keeping half. Then they'd drink a glass of wine and the engagement would be on.

In the 1870's, miners began discovering huge veins of diamonds in South Africa, and ice started flowing onto the world market. Diamonds went from being a scarce gem to a fairly common commodity. This, of course, was bad news for anyone who had diamonds and wanted to make as much dough as possible. The diamond mine owners knew they'd have to get clever to get rich. And it didn't take long for these gentlemen to come upon a plan.

In 1888, several major South African mines merged together to found "De Beers Consolidated Mines.” This merger created a cartel that could effectively control the flow of diamonds from South Africa onto the world markets. As diamonds became scarcer they grew more valuable, and their popularity as a gem in engagement rings increased too.

Okay, this explains how diamonds rose in price and created an illusion of scarcity. But how did diamonds become such an integral part of the marriage process? Depending on your point of view, you can either thank or curse De Beers for this too. While many of us may think of the diamond engagement ring as an ancient "time-honored tradition,” it really is just the end result of a fairly recent (and brilliant) marketing plan used by De Beers in the late 1930's.

In 1938, De Beers executives were in a tight spot. Diamond prices and demand had been on a steady decline since 1919. The tanking economy had caused most wedding-minded men to give their betrothed ladies modest engagement rings that included intricate metalwork rather than fancy gems. De Beers and the cartel needed a way to jump start its revenues.

De Beers approached New York ad agency N.W. Ayer and asked for a marketing campaign designed to convince Americans they desperately needed diamonds. The campaign they came up with was definitely one of the cleverest and most effective in advertising history.

N.W. Ayer started a multi-pronged attack that completely revolutionized Americans' view of diamonds. The agency got Hollywood's biggest stars to wear diamonds and encouraged fashion designers to talk up diamond rings as an emerging trend. The plan worked beautifully. In the first three years of the campaign, diamond sales shot up by over 50%.

While these results were both successful and lucrative, the "masterstroke" had yet to take place. In 1947, an Ayer copywriter named Frances Gerety penned the slogan "a diamond is forever.”

ASUP Threatens To Begin Nationwide Strike On August 22

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced plans to embark on a nationwide strike starting from August 22.

The union vowed to commence the industrial action, if the Federal Government fails to honour the agreement it reached with the union in 2013.

ASUP President, Mr Usman Dutse, disclosed this to reporters on Thursday at the end of a Zone A emergency meeting of the union in Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria.

He lamented that since the suspension of the protracted strike in 2014, the government is yet to address some of the core issues that necessitated the strike.

Mr Dutse urged the government to as a matter of urgency, address these issues in order to avoid another nationwide industrial action.

A communique read by the Zone A Coordinator of ASUP, Kabir Yunusa, noted that no significant progress has been made by government in resolving the issues.

The statement highlighted the issues to include the non-implementation of Needs Assessment Report of 2014, non-payment of salaries in many state-owned institutions, delay in the review of the Polytechnic Act and poor funding of polytechnics among other demands.

The ASUP President said that despite giving the government enough time when it came on board last year to settle down and address all pending issues, the present administration has showed no concern about the plight of lecturers, whose salaries were being reduced or owed in most federal and state polytechnics.

11 Rules Of Visiting A New Mom

So, your friend just had a baby and you’re planning on visiting the newest member of the mom club?
You may probably not know, but there are some rules of visiting a new mom. No, we are not kidding.
Read on:

1. Wait to be invited
We Africans especially, when we hear our friend has a baby, we just up and go, not forgetting to take with us the ululations…Nah. New moms are tired and they need that mother-child bond especially in the very early days. Do not go when it’s convenient for you! Call prior to and find out when you can visit.

2. Do not visit when sick
Please. If you have a cold, a skin rash or whatever other forms of ailment there is out there, wait till you’re feeling better. Newborns have a weak immune system and are therefore vulnerable to diseases.

3. Leave your kids behind
If you plan on visiting a new mom with your three kids, it’s best to call the new mom before and ask her if it’s fine. The last thing a new mom needs is a bunch of kids running around the house messing everything up and making noise.

4. Bring food
Surely, you can’t go to visit a new mom and expect a feast party! More so from a mom who doesn’t have a nanny yet. Assume the role of the host, ask to help around the house and bring food so that you can all eat and save the new mom the hustle of going to the kitchen to cook for you and other guests.

5. Wash your hands
That’s the first thing you should do the minute you arrive. No mother wants germs near her newborn.

6. Wait to be offered the baby
New moms have very strong mother instincts and come off as very protective. The last thing they want is to see their baby being passed around from one guest to another and being kissed and touched and all…as much as your purpose of visiting was to see the baby, wait for the mother to offer you the baby, or at least ask in a kind way.

7. Don’t hog the baby
If you’re offered the baby, do not stay for hours with the baby. That’s baby hogging. Give it back to the mother after a few minutes.
Image: soups2nutsmedia

8. Do not offer unsolicited advice
If the new mom hasn’t asked for any advice from you, please keep your parenting tips to yourself. Don’t start saying how the baby needs an extra blanket or how the mom should hold the baby. No! This is a new mom…don’t make her feel like she’s doing a bad job already for pete’s sake.

9. Commenting on the baby’s name
Even if you think the baby’s name is as outrageous as North West, do not mention it. Seriously, it’s not the time and place.

10. Talk about something else other than the baby
Ask the new mom how she’s coping, heck, talk about Beyonce…anything else other than the baby. Don’t spend the whole time talking about the new-born. Entertain the mom a little bit.

11. Know when to leave
Don’t be the kind of guests who visit at 1.00pm and by 7.00pm they still haven’t left. Take hits and know when to leave. The new mom and baby need as much rest as they can get.

After anthropologist Susan McKinley came back home from an expedition in South America , she noticed a very strange rash on her left breast. Nobody knew what it was and she quickly dismissed it believing that the holes would leave within a short time. Upon her return, she decided to see a doctor after she started developing intense painsThe doctor, not knowing the exact severity of the disease, gave her antibiotics and special creams. As time lapsed the pain did not subside and her left breast became more inflamed and started to bleed.. She decided to bandage her sores, however as Susan’s pain grew more intense she decided to seek help from a more certified doctor. Dr. Lynch could not diagnose the infection and told Susan to seek the aid of one of his colleagues who specialized in dermatology whom was sadly on vacation. She waited for two weeks and finally was able to reach the dermatologist. Sadly, a life-changing event was about to unfold during her appointment. To Miss McKinley’s surprise, after she removed the bandages, they found larva growing and squirming within the pores and sores of her breast. Sometimes these wicked creatures would all together simultaneously move around into different crevices. What she didn’t know was that the holes were in fact, deeper than she had originally thought for these larvae were feeding off the fat, tissue, and even milk canals of her bosom. The root of the problem was eventually discovered to be the effect of parasites from the newly acquired bra she wore immediately before she travelled. PLEASE DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED OR SCARED TO FORWARD TO EVERYBODY YOU KNOW AND CARE FOR, ESPECIALLY WOMEN.

Men, Here Are 15 Signs She’s A Keeper

Shout out to all the people who are at the “all my friends are getting married” age! Nice ‘saying’ huh? Yeah…saw that on Twitter and thought…genius!
Whew inching closer to the 30’s and mid 30’s and everyone asking you when you’re getting married I suppose?
Getting married is not the problem, the problem is finding a keeper! A girl who will hold you down at your best and at your worst; one who has the brains of Michelle Obama, the confidence of Caroline Mutoko and the charisma and looks of Julie Gichuru!
That, my friends, is the task!
If you aren’t sure, here are signs that you’re dating a keeper and need to put a ring on it like yesterday!
1. She has a great sense of humor
Laughter is the best medicine. You need to be with someone who is not afraid to be herself around you; one who doesn’t take life too seriously sometimes. No one wants to come home to gloomy-boring-always-annoyed-Jane after a long day of work.

2. She’s a homemaker
She will cook for you, clean after you, make sure the house is in order; after all, those are the basic wife duties; to take care of the home.

3. She’s mature
Get you a girl who can let loose over the weekend yet watch her drinking limits; one who’s not immersed in gossip and superficiality.

4. She’s kind and compassionate
If your girl is rude to waiters for no apparent reason, that’s a huge red flag right there. You should be with someone who is caring and compassionate, it shows that her heart is pure!

5. She’s smart
Imagine taking your girl out for dinner with friends and family and the discussions of Brexit or ISIS arise and she asks “What is EU?” God! I’d be mortified. Date someone who can have a meaningful conversation with your friends and family. Unless you’re into the Donald Trump bimbo-blondie type…

6. She’s flexible
If I were a man, my ideal girl would be the kind that can switch from gym wear to shorts for a weekend of watching a rugby game, then to a sexy little black dress for date night…a girl who is spontaneous and wants to partake in fun activities with you. She doesn’t have to be sporty, but the kind of girl that’s not worried about breaking her nails when you suggest a weekend of trail biking at Karura.

7. She gets along with your family and friends
I don’t think there’s any possible way to be happily married to someone who doesn’t get along with your family and friends cause a majority of the time, your lives will revolve around family and friends.

8. She adds value to your life
She makes your life better. Not as an arm-candy, but in the sense that she holds you down; she’s there for you through the ups and downs. She pushes you to reach your full potential, she encourages you, prays for you, gives you the motivation to become a better man!

9. She’s not afraid to call you out when you fuck up
The girl who tells you that you’re spending, driving, drinking recklessly is a keeper.
Missakanke/Blogspot

10. She’s not materialistic
Hey, we all want a vacation in Dubai and the latest phone. But the girl you should marry is not driven by material things. She just wants to love and to be loved! Everything else is extra…

11. She’s patient with you
She sticks by you through the good days and the bad. She believes in you and is patient with you. This is the kind of girl who will not rush to the divorce court when shit hits the fan in your marriage and will instead try to work things out.

12. You’re comfortable around her
You don’t feel the need to change personas when you’re around her. You can literally and comfortably bleat like a goat when laughing and she will think “that’s so cute”, cause she loves the things you hate about yourself and she doesn’t try to change you.

13. You share similar values
You share the same beliefs e.gon how to raise a family. If you have different beliefs, sooner than later, there will be endless tags of war on different issues.

14. She’s great around kids
God forbid that the person you’re dating is the kind that sees a child and goes like “get that thing away from me”. Unless of course, you both don’t want kids.

15. You’re sexually compatible
Things aren’t awkward in the bedroom.

These 10 Things On Your CV Could Be The Reason You’re Not Getting Hired

Coming up with a well written, concise CV is one of the hardest tasks ever.
HR Managers and recruiting officers have thousands of CVs to go through. Therefore, your CV can be disqualified simply because of small mistakes here and there and maybe, just maybe, that is why you are not getting call backs from potential employers.

Here’s how to come up with the perfect CV:
1. Unnecessary personal information
Anything besides your name, email address and contact information should not be included on your CV. Details such as your tribe, age, height, weight and religion are minor details that no one cares about.
Photo: Mark Angel Comedy

2. Education Background
If you are a university graduate or have a college diploma then you do not need to include all your other education details. Your university degree is your highest level of education and that’s all that matters. If you are yet to graduate, you can include both the secondary school and the university where you’re currently enrolled and for which course.

3. Grades
Related to number 2, if you got a D- in your final exams or a GPA of 1.88, why! oh why would you include that in your resume? No offense but no one will hire a dimwit. Remove that shame on your resume and show the employer that you’re smart beyond your grades at the interview.

4. Work experience
There’s no need to include all of your work experience, such as a 3-day job you did at the mall and the likes. Include only what’s related to the particular job you are applying for. Remember, no employer has time to go through a 4-5 page CV the shorter the better. Do not bore the employer with unnecessary details. Your CV will be shoved in the dustbin.

5. Hobbies
Even if you have a mixtape out, keep unnecessary hobbies to yourself. Only include hobbies that are related to the job you are applying for. If for example you are applying for a Customer Care job, you can state socializing and making new friends as one of your hobbies.

6. Salary details
Unless you have specifically been requested to include salary details on the CV, leave them out. That’s the last thing you negotiate on, when and if you get the job.

7. Email address
If you still use the embarrassing email address you created when you were 16 years old, it’s time to change it up. Create a formal email address, bearing your official name. You can do it on Gmail or Yahoo. It’s free! No employer will hire someone with an email address like empresstheee1sexy[at]gmail.com. Nah!

8. Saving the CV
Do not save your CV as CV or Resume or doc or whatever. Save it as your name, unless advised otherwise by the hiring company. Also, do not include the word CV, Resume or the date at the top of your CV.

9. Photograph
This is a debatable point. Some people argue that it’s good to include your photo, others are of the opinion that you should leave it out. Some companies prefer that you not to include a photograph so they can safely adhere to the Equal Employment Opportunity legislation. Hey, unless it’s a modelling, acting, flight attendant or any other job that requires applicants to attach their photographs, then it’s probably better to leave it out.

10. Career objective
Rather than writing a summary of what you want, tell the employer what you’re capable of and if hired, what you will bring to the table.

Lastly, remember to keep it short, error free, simple and at maximum, 2 pages!

Here Are Six Relationship Types That Can Shape Your Life

1. The ’mutual growth’ relationship
This is when two people are so involved in each other that they start helping each other grow  emotionally and mentally. Emotional growth is a huge part of our lives; we can’t move forward without having emotional maturity, and this type of relationship actually helps boost this a lot. This kind of partner helps to strengthen their other half and motivate them to achieve what they thought was beyond their limits.

2. The ’comfortable silence’ relationship
This is when two people are so emotionally attached and comfortable with each other that they can sit in silence with one another without a worry in the world. Achieving this type of relationship is a very difficult task, as it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve. Imagine you’re sitting with your partner at dinner — just sitting, not talking at all. How do you feel about it? If it feels natural, then the chances are you have one of the most emotionally stable relationships in the world.

3. The “convenience” relationship
These relationships are neither bad nor good. People usually need them to achieve one specific goal they’ve set for themselves, such as for career purposes or their social life. In the worst case, only one of the two partners knows that they don’t really plan on remaining part of the other’s life forever, but they are staying as long as it takes for a certain objective to be obtained or achieved. These relationships come to an end as soon as each partner (or only one) gets what they desire.

4. The ’experimentation’ relationship
This type of relationship is fundamentally selfish in nature. It happens when one person decides to make it their goal to see someone else become something. For example, someone wants you to be a different person, a little too different than you ever wanted to be. So they hook up with you to see if they could achieve this. They want to see if their experiment would be a success and whether they would change you into the idealised person they imagined you could be. Almost 98% of the time, these relationships fail in a pretty horrible and destructive way.

5. The ’dragged’ relationship
This is one of the worst kinds of relationship. These relationships are the ones which should have ended ages ago but are still being dragged on. This happens usually after a very bad breakup and making up with each other after a few months. The pain and sorrow of the breakup is too much to handle, yet each side still tries breathing new life into their dying love.

6. The ’competition’ relationship
This kind of relationship won’t ever lead to anything good. When two people are in love, they do their best to help each other grow. In a competition relationship, both partners are competitive in nature, and they even tend to compete against one another. For example, a man and his wife might try their best to beat each other in their career achievements, to the extent that they start to perceive each other not even as rivals but as actual enemies. If you’re in one of these relationships, do yourselves a favour and free yourself right now!

13 Skills Every Man Should Master

There are many things that define a man’s masculinity and we are about to delve into a little bit of that.
The same way that women are universally expected to know how to cook, there are some skills that every man is expected to master.
Here are some of them:
1. Be familiar with cars
By being familiar with cars I mean, know everything. If the car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, I would expect a man to freaking figure out what the problem is. And that’s not all, a man should know how to change a flat tire, jumpstart a car, drive a manual car and parallel park!

2. Open a bottle without an opener
Small skill, but hey, imagine passing a bottle over to a man to open it for you and he ends up passing it on to another man for help? Meh…

3. Grill with charcoal
Not to set standards or anything, but if you cannot grill some nyama choma or cook at least one signature dish to save your life, you might as well buy a skirt and heels and join the mom club!

4. Know how to light a fire
If we are camping and it gets cold, I don’t expect you to start rubbing your hands! Make a fire! You’re a man.

5. Know how to slaughter a chicken
Don’t be the kind of man that sees a hen and runs away screaming!

6. Know how to approach a lady
Every man should know how to approach a lady and ask her out on a date. There’s something ultra sexy about a man that can approach a lady confidently without the fear of being rejected. We absolutely heart all the confident men out there!

7. Know how to tie a tie
Whether you sing a song that your mom taught you when you were 7 or use the knee trick to tie a tie, it doesn’t matter as long as you can tie a tie. You don’t want to be 35, attending your friend’s wedding and Googling “How to tie a tie”. Tragic!

8. Be able to shop for the perfect suit
Yes! Seriously! Every man needs a proper suit be it for closing an important deal, a wedding ceremony or formal event.

9. Know how to throw a punch
Now, we are not saying that you go around giving people black eyes and what not; what we mean is, be able to defend yourself if need be.

10. Know how to tell a joke
Don’t be the boring party pooper who’s too stuck up at the party. Be the life of the party. Know how to tell a joke. Women love guys with a great sense of humor.

11. Know how to pleasure a woman
Duh! Had to be on the list.

12. Be Handy
You do not need to call in an expert to fix everything that gets broken in the house. Get yourself a tool box and let YouTube be your guide. You can pretty much fix almost everything in the house. Takeaway, women love handy men 😉

13. Being good around babies or kids
Men are known to suck at parenting but a man who’s good around kids tend to get the attention of women as they know you can give them a helping hand when they’re busy. Then again, if it’s your kid, they could do with some Daddy loving.

Heart Disease: Medical Experts Harp On Regular Checkups To Avoid Risk

Medical experts have urged all Nigerians especially from age 50 and below to ensure they take the stress test exercise in order to ascertain any likelihood of the Coronary Artery Disease or Ischemic Heart Disease commonly known as heart attack.

According to the experts, the test will reveal if blood supply to the heart is enough. The test will also show the changes in the electrocardiogram (ECG) of the heart.

The exercise stress test, as opined by the medical experts, will determine the amount of stress the heart can manage as well as the amount of oxygen the heart muscle can generate.

Key Symptoms

They described Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) as an epidemic that is capable of shortening a life span if proper attention and adequate awareness was not given to it.

The experts further disclosed that apart from the risk factor like smoking, poor diet, family history, excessive alcohol, hypertension, obesity, diabetes and high cholesterol as root cause of the disease, constant chest pain, irregular heartbeat, emotional stress and shortness of breath are other key symptoms of ischemic heart disease.

According to the World Health Organization, CAD or Ischemic Heart Disease (ISH) commonly referred to as heart attack was the most common cause of death globally in 2013, resulting in 8.14 million deaths and 16.8 per cent up from 5.74 million deaths and 12 per cent in the early 90s.

Medical experts say some causes of the cardiovascular disease occur due to blockage of the blood vessel to the heart which often times cause chest pain and other complications in the heart resulting to a heart attack.

It was further disclosed that CAD is rampant in this part of the world because people over stress themselves and fail to exercise their body, rest or go for regular medical checkup.

Prevent The Disease

While advising people to take precautions and proper medical advice on this disease, the medical experts said exercise stress test is a key test that should be done in order to ascertain the likelihood of having a coronary artery disease.

To prevent the disease, they opined that awareness should increase and medical personnel should be more proactive with their patients while also urging that people should ensure they eat healthy and proper diet, exercise regularly, maintain healthy weight, stop smoking, treat hypertension and decrease cholesterol level.

In case of severe complications, cardiovascular surgery or open heart surgery is the way out, the experts stressed.

With the rate at which the coronary artery disease kills people in recent times especially prominent Nigerians like the two former super eagles coaches and many more, it is advisable to take precautions.

it is also necessary to take time out and go for medical checkups especially the exercise stress test to ascertain any likelihood of the coronary artery disease and also stay away from risk factors that might cause the disease.

Nursing Mothers Urged To Adhere To Exclusive Breastfeeding

Nursing mothers were on Wednesday, advised to exclusively breastfeed their babies from the day of birth to six months without adding water or any supplement.

This emphasis was the focus of an awareness talk held at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, Abia State, southeast region.

According to the Head of Nursing Department at Federal Medical Centre,Umuahia, Ms Nwanyieze Mba, “There is no better time to begin the awareness than now because of the increasing number of malnourished and dehydrated infants that are brought to the antenatal ward frequently because of the inability of the mothers to breastfeed 8-12 times a day.”

Also, a pediatrician, Dr Amara Okafor, while addressing the nursing mothers, stressed the consequences of not adhering to breast feeding.

Among the risks she highlighted is bacterial contamination in infants as well as the babies’ immunity being very low which makes them vulnerable to diseases.

The pediatrician lamented that about 37% of mothers were not feeding their babies with breast milk and hinted that the trend must stop if Nigerian women want healthy babies and a healthy future.

Some of the nursing mothers who attended the breastfeeding awareness talk said that they would ensure that their babies’ future and health become priority.

They disclosed that they would carry the campaign home to every nursing mother in their communities because they agree that it is indeed the only way to protect the child.

The highlight of the breastfeeding awareness talk was the presentation of gifts to some well-fed babies whose mothers have adhered strictly to exclusive breastfeeding.

Flood Alerts: NEMA Confident Government Is Prepared To Avert Crisis

Military Court-Martial Warns Against Avoidable Adjournments

The Court-Martial trying erring soldiers of the Operation Lafiya Dole has warned that it will not welcome unnecessary adjournment and delays.

The President of the Court-Martial, Brigadier General Olusegun Adeniyi, gave the caution on Wednesday during the trial of four officers and 16 others charged for various malpractices in the course of the counter-insurgency war.

General Adeniyi, who read the riot act to the prosecuting and defence counsels, noted that he would conclude the trials within the shortest possible time, assuring that time spent in detention by the accused would be adequately accounted for once judgement was handed down.

He stated further, the reason for their confinement, adjourning sitting till September 5.

“Their confinement is so they do not endanger national security, others and themselves and interfere with prosecution since we still do not know the nature of their charges.”

The adjournment followed a plea by the prosecutors, who failed to furnish the court with details of charges against the erring soldiers.

The defence counsel, Steve Ogenyi, also made a bail application for the accused, who has spent between six to 18 months in detention, a request the court denied.

The acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Major General Victor Ezugwu, who inaugurated the Court Martial, said that the aim was to achieve timely and quick dispensation of justice.

General Ezugwu had appealed to the prosecutors and accused to avoid antics such as frivolous call for adjournment to cause unnecessary delay.

He also advised the court to avoid being biased and decisions based on external pressure, such that the judgement passed stands the test of Appellate Court and public opinion.

The acting GOC disclosed that the offences of those arraigned varies from theft and sales of ammunition to murder in the course of operations.

U.S. Gives $37M To Conflict Victims In Lake Chad Basin Region

The United States government has announced over $37 million for humanitarian assistance for the conflict in the Lake Chad Basin region.

At a meeting with the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, the Nigerian Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development, Mr Michael Harvey said the fund is to provide food, water and shelter for thousands of people who need humanitarian assistance.

Mr Harvey added that the fund will be disbursed to Non-Governmental Organisations and United Nations agencies, who are addressing humanitarian challenges in the region.

“The U.S. continues to be the single largest humanitarian donor to the region,” the US Embassy in Nigeria said in a statement on Wednesday.

It said the savagery of Boko Haram had triggered a humanitarian crisis in Nigeria and surrounding countries in the Lake Chad Basin region.

“Families have been driven from their homes, millions are left without enough to eat, and human rights abuses are widespread.

“Despite gradually improving security conditions, the humanitarian situation remains dire.

“Throughout the region, approximately five million people need emergency food assistance and 2.5 million people are displaced,” it said.

The mission said new funding to UN and non-governmental organisation partners would help tens of thousands of people to receive critically needed humanitarian assistance.

It listed the humanitarian assistance to include food, water, shelter, and services to address acute hygiene, protection and nutritional needs.

“The food assistance will be delivered to conflict-affected communities in the Diffa Region of Niger, including populations who fled their homes following the recent attacks in Bosso.

“This new food assistance will be coordinated with the humanitarian community in Nigeria to scale up the overall regional food response,” the mission said.

Copyright Infringement: Majek Fashek Insists Timi Dakolo Is Guilty

Nigerian reggae music icon Majek Fashek has insisted that singer Timi Dakolo committed copyright infringement for remaking his classic track ‘Send Down The Rain’.

In a video sent to Entertainment News on Channels Television, Majek who is currently in London to complete works on his comeback album accused Dakolo of not getting proper permission from him or his management before embarking on the remake.

Meanwhile, earlier in the year at an award ceremony, Majek Fashek happily performed the song alongside Timi Dakolo and guitarist Kunle Ayo.

In a statement, Dakolo maintained that he would not want to join issues with the music legend publicly but maintained that he had secured permission and actually paid a fee to Majek through his then management company, November Records.

In a separate statement, November Records confirmed Dakolo’s position saying they held the power of negotiation for Majek at the period and that Timi Dakolo completed all agreed terms before sampling the said track.

Republican Security Experts Rail Against Trump In Open Letter

Fifty Republican national security experts in an open letter on Monday warned that party nominee Donald Trump “would be the most reckless president” in US history.

The group, which includes the former CIA director Michael Hayden, said Mr Trump “lacks the character, values and experience” to be president.

Many of the signatories had declined to sign a similar note in March, the BBC says.

“None of us will vote for Donald Trump,” the letter states.

The letter comes after a number of high-profile Republicans stepped forward to disown Mr Trump

Mr Trump has broken with years of Republican foreign policy on a number of occasions.

The candidate has questioned whether the US should honour its commitments to Nato, endorsed the use of torture and suggested that South Korea and Japan should arm themselves with nuclear weapons.

“He weakens US moral authority as the leader of the free world,” the letter read.

“He appears to lack basic knowledge about and belief in the US Constitution, US laws, and US institutions, including religious tolerance, freedom of the press, and an independent judiciary.”

Also among those who signed the letter were John Negroponte, the first director of national intelligence and later deputy secretary of state; Robert Zoellick, who was also a former deputy secretary of state and former president of the World Bank; and two former secretaries of homeland security, Tom Ridge and Michael Chertoff.

Brazil Senate Votes For Rousseff Impeachment Trial

The Brazilian Senate has voted overwhelmingly to hold an impeachment trial of suspended President Dilma Rousseff, who is accused of breaking the budget law.

The Senate voted 59 to 21 in favour of the trial following a marathon debate that ended in the early hours of Wednesday.’

Temer, Rousseff’s conservative former vice president who took office in May, has urged Senators to wrap up the trial quickly so he can move ahead with a plan to cap public spending, reform an overly generous pension system and restore confidence in government finances.

Rousseff has denied any wrongdoing and denounced her impeachment as a right-wing conspiracy that has used an accounting technicality as a pretext to illegally remove a government that improved the lot of Brazil’s poorer classes.

“The cards are marked in this game. There is no trial, just a sentence that has already been written,” Workers Party Senator, Jorge Viana told Reuters

Rousseff’s critics say her interventionist economic policies and inability to govern led to the debacle in Latin America’s largest country.

The Senate suspended Rousseff in May over alleged illegal accounting practices. But she says they were common practice under previous administrations.

US Election: Anger Over Donald Trump Gun Rights Remarks

Republican Presidential Nominee, Donald Trump has sparked outrage by appearing to suggest his supporters could stop his rival Hillary Clinton from becoming president by exercising their gun rights.

At a rally in North Carolina, on Tuesday he says Mrs Clinton would put liberal justices on the Supreme Court if she wins the presidency in November, threatening gun ownership rights.

According to Reuters, Trump said “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks”.
“Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Mr Trump then hinted that gun rights advocates could stop her taking power.
However, that sparked an online backlash, with many accusing him of inciting violence.

But his campaign team said he was actually talking about getting gun rights supporters to the ballot box to enact change politically.

Meanwhile, Clinton’s campaign called the remark “dangerous”

“A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way,” it said.

Bayelsa Government Set To Apprehend Killer Militants

The Bayelsa State Government says strategies have been put in place to apprehend suspected killers of military personnel in Nembe Local Government Area.

Governor Seriake Dickson on Tuesday commiserated with the Nigerian Military over the brutal killing of three soldiers by armed bandits and gave reporters update on the development.

The Governor described the incident as worrisome, as a similar attack had taken place last year in the same community

While calling for calm within the affected community, the Chief Security officer also advised traditional rulers to stay more in their domains so they could be on top of every aspect of the development.

Governor Dickson has already invited high ranking officials of his administration who are indigenes of Nembe to a meeting to map out ways of ensuring that the ugly incident would not occur again said doesn’t repeat.

“We will not allow Bayelsa State be used as a launching pad for criminality, violence, or any breach of national security,” he stressed.

Governor Dickson

Also discussed during the media chat was the issue of the payment of half salaries to civil servants in the State and when it would be reversed to the full amount.

Meanwhile, the Operation Delta Safe force has deployed reinforcement team to apprehend suspected militants that killed three members of the Joint Task Force on Monday Morning.

A statement by a spokesman for the military, Lieutenant Commander, A. Ahmed, said the attack occurred at about 10:00am local  time.

The officers came under attack at a checkpoint mounted by the Nembe waterway checkpoint by persons suspected to be militants.

“The commander of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Joseph Okojie, has consequently deployed reinforcement team to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime,” the statement read.

15 Inmates Escape From Nsukka Prison

Prison officials at the Nsukka Prison in Enugu State, Nigeria’s South-East region are on the trail of about 15 inmates, who escaped on Tuesday.

Reports say that the inmates broke their cells and scaled over the perimeter fence.

The Controller of the Prison, Mr. Lawrence Okonkwo, who confirmed the jailbreak, however, declined to give the number of inmates that escaped.

Mr. Okonkwo said that only the Enugu State Prisons Controller, Mr Isaiah Amariri, can tell the public the number of inmates that escaped, the re-arrested ones and efforts put in place to arrest those still on the run.

This comes as unconfirmed reports say that two escapees have been rearrested.

The Enugu incidence is coming about two weeks after 13 inmates escaped from the Koton Karfe Medium Security Prison in Kogi State.

The Ministry of Interior, Mr Willie Bassey, announced later that 6 out of the 13 inmates that escaped were re-arrested and are back in custody.

Best twenty verse of the Bible to help you during anxiety and fear: Giving God Control

Terrorism, disease, natural disasters, war, violence and crime; we live in a world where we see and hear about horrors every day. People are dying every day, in your city, in my city, in a country on the other side of the world. I am afraid. It’s hard not to be afraid.

Fear is powerful and when you let it overwhelm you, it’s hard to see anything but the fear. When fear becomes a force in your life, it branches off into worries, stress and anxiety; this is all part of the enemy’s plan. He wants to drag us down and overshadow our life with an unbearable darkness.

How are we not supposed to worry though? How can we be confident in the future and let our life take its destined course? How do we stop the pestering “what ifs?”

What if I mess up and get fired? What if the tire on my car pops and the vehicle flips? What if my child’s future isn’t great, and it’s my fault? Stop.

Take back your life, and don’t let fear control you. Replace your constant thoughts of worries and fears with positive ones. Make it a point to pray the Lord’s words so often the negative thoughts no longer have a place in your head.

“There’s nothing magical about words and verses, but there is power through them, because they’re God’s words,” explained Debbie McDaniel from crosswalk.com. “His words are ‘life’ words, soothing to our soul, calming to our spirits, giving power to our days.”

With help from McDaniel and crosswalk.com, here are 20 verses to remind us, we do not have to fear:

1. “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3

2.  “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” John 14:27

3. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

4. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

5. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

6. “Immediately he spoke to them and said, ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.'” Mark 6:50

7. “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
